The 109th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide: A Tribute in Hungary

This year, in commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a series of events were held in Hungary to honor the memory of the genocide victims. On April 24, representatives of the Armenian community, Armenian officials, and their supporters gathered in Budapest to pay tribute to the memory of more than one and a half million Armenians who became victims of this great atrocity at the beginning of the 20th century.

The ceremony began at the Armenian Genocide memorial in Budapest, where participants laid flowers and lit candles to express their respect and duty of remembrance. Afterwards, a mass was held at the Armenian Catholic Church, dedicated to the peaceful repose of the souls of the innocent victims of the genocide.

This commemoration served as a solemn reminder to the Armenian people and the international community of the immense pain inflicted on the Armenian nation at the beginning of the 20th century. It also highlighted the importance of international recognition of the genocide to prevent such atrocities from recurring.
